GW16 Select XI

Quite a tricky gameweek this, with no real obvious stand out captaincy options leaving the DGW players a tempting pick.  Michu, who leads The Scout's captain poll is not featured in my lineup.  He just missed out, as did Fellaini, these two being the 5th and 6th best rated midfielders this week excluding the DGWers. They were both pipped by Mata, a suprise inclusion you are no doubt thinking but the projection model has him ahead and who am I to argue with a computer?

I've tried not to go too crazy on Reading and Sunderland players.  Le Fondre is really a punt, he's only had limited minutes (700) compared to other Premier League players this season so his stats are most probably inflated a bit.

Steven Fletcher would actually be the top rated player in all this if he was not an injury doubt.  Instead Sessegon gets a chance to justify the hefty price tag he earned himself last season, playing often as the front striker one must remember.  The Sess/Le Fondre combination is actually more highly rated than the next best alternative, Fletcher/Robson-Kanu.

Berbatov  and Ba are my leading captaincy contenders this week based on a single match score.  Again, I don't want to just give the armband to Sess or Le Fondre.  See my GW16 Captain Ratings for more precise review of individual forecasts.

In defence there's not a great deal to hope for this week.  I do not expect an Everton clean sheet but I do expect them to score so Baines gets a chance at the back.  The Villa-Stoke game looks to be the lowest scoring on paper this week hence Huth and Clark, both with set piece threat, making up the back three.
